Beacon Media did a wonderful article on my business. It was very professional and covered the history and success of my company in great detail. Many of their subscribers read the article and contacted me. Their coverage has been a boost to my business.
Thanks Beacon Media.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dan B.Duarte, CA074May 19, 2021
Such a disservice to the local community with the Foothill Workforce Development Board (FWDB) article authored by Terry Miller that was published on May 19, 2021 in the Monrovia weekly! Unfortunately, Mr. Miller continues trust his sources and publish their comments which are not correct nor accurate! In their comments they accuse Ms. Carter of the transfer of $1.5M without board approval. These sources that Mr. Miller relies upon have, many times over, demonstrated their lack of ability to understand the processes. FWDB continues to be a High-Performing workforce development board which is a designation awarded them following extensive audits and reviews by the State of California. Mr. Miller check your facts and stop damaging a local community where residents and businesses need FWDB more than ever!

When I filed a DBA 2 years ago, this company was a pleasure to work with. They were informative and very polite answering all of my questions.
Do to personal reasons, I filed a Statement of Abandonment for the DBA.
Upon calling this morning, the young lady who answered the telephone was not courteous, would not answer my questions regarding the process nor whether there had been a price increase. She curtly reiterated that the cost was $45.
I just called them back and was polite and courteous to whom ever answered the phone. After asking if I needed to simply fax over the paperwork, the same young lady from this morning informed me "that due to the phone conversation from earlier, they where not able to do business with me". Not able? That is not true. The truth is that this company, based solely on her statement, is CHOOSING to deny publishing my mandated and necessary paperwork. Not very "neighborly or professional" for a local and small town business. Sad because our other companies have always used Beacon Media.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa D.Pasadena, CA1281Sep 16, 2016

I didn't realize Beacon Media covered so much ground in terms of all the different local coverage from their various community papers across the SGV. I came here recently to make inquiries and was quickly greeted by their friendly staff.

On February 8, 2013 I paid $191 to FileDBA.com to file a DBA name with the County, advertise it in the local paper and file a form with the county to reserve a DBA name for my business. On February 14 and Feb. 19 I e-mailed to inquire about status. No reply. On Feb 20 after I advised that continued non-response would result in a void credit card transaction, an e-mail back said that they had received my form (mailed on Feb. 8) and had forwarded it to the County. I would receive the form back in 7-10 business days. On March 11, progress status from their web site was unchanged and no form had been received by me. On March 8, sent an e-mail cancelling the transaction and requesting my money back. Within 20 minutes the status on their web site changed to reflect that the DBA had been sent to the local paper for publishing. Still no County form back to me (form is necessary to open a business bank account) and no publication in local paper. Also no response to my e-mail. All I can conclude is that this is a scam and the company should be avoided by any potential small business person needing this service.
