Doctor was nice and kind but his staff gotta change. They were so rude and impatient. There were two female staff when we visited today in the morning. One is older and one is younger. The younger Asian employee was rude to customers. I wonder if she knows where her salary comes from? Animals are not like human if they know how to behave properly, they wouldn't be called animals. If you chose to go into this profession, you need to expect this kind of excited behavior from animals and handle it professionally instead of sighing at every single second.

I will not bring my business here anymore and would not recommend it. The staff are obviously not welcoming and not caring enough. I don't trust people who are not compassionate and patient toward animals to take care of my dog.

I went here about 1-2 years ago, the doctor was very nice and helpful and I received the services my dog needed. The front desk lady was pretty rude and impatient over the several times we went in for my dog's puppy vaccinations. I remember being shamed by the only front desk lady for coming 5-10 minutes late after rushing home from work to make it to the first appointment I booked with them. The second time I came in the front desk lady was there again and made me feel like I was an idiot for not knowing the names of the fecal sample tests for the samples I was dropping off even though I gave her my pug's name. Anyways I haven't returned since due to my interactions with this woman, I felt like she was very condescending. Not sure if it's still the same here but I wanted to share since this popped up when I was looking for vets on yelp.

Dr Peterson is wonderful. His front desk staff particularly the younger Asian lady named Anita is ridiculously rude. I had to step in and yell at her for the way she was speaking to me. Which I think scared her and nearly made her cry. Serves her right. Look at the number of awful reviews about her attitude here. She treats customers like trash until someone finally stands up for themselves and fights back, then she backs down. Absolutely appalling way to treat pet owners who are worried and stressed about their ill pets.

Genuinely would not tell anyone to take their pet here. We have been seeing them for a few months for checkups and vaccines, and brought our puppy in to be neutered. We picked him up at 10:45 am and he was a mess, covered in poop and blood. They had done a terrible job shaving him and there were razor nicks all over his hind legs. Then by 1:00 pm his stitches were bleeding significantly. They are closed for lunch for 2 HOURS so when we called at 2:00 we were told the vet had left for the day. (When I spoke with them the next day the nurse said the vet only works part time) Their only solution was to put him in a kennel at their office, overnight and unsupervised, until the vet came in the next day. We obviously said no.

We spent all afternoon trying to find someone who could see him urgently, and when we did they had to give epinephrine injections to stop the bleeding. By the next day the surgical site looked completely infected and was oozing pus. We took our dog to another (3rd) vet who took one look and said whoever had done the surgery had done a terrible job. They had to redo his surgery at the new vet's office. We got sent home with antibiotics, sedatives, and pain meds (did I mention Las Tunas gave us no discharge instructions and no meds even for pain? Also did not draw blood before surgery or use dissolvable stitches. So outdated in their practice!) A huge ordeal that was completely unnecessary. Please do not bring your pets here.

The doctor always answers all my questions and explains what's he's going to do before he proceeds, which I appreciate. All the other employees have been kind and understanding. I hope if you choose to come here you have the same experiences.

Pros: Dr. Peterson is a kind and great veterinarian. Pricing is fair and much cheaper than other places who will nickel and dime you on everything and try to upsell tests or treatments you don't even need. I feel he's very compassionate and good at his job. Not a single complaint to be had with this vet.

Cons: His staff is TERRIBLE, and that alone is reason enough to stay away from this place. The younger receptionist can be nice one moment and then her attitude shifts so fast if she gets annoyed by something or the most minor inconvenience. I've even seen her snap rudely at the doctor! The older lady (I think she's the vet tech/assistant) is the real winner though. She's not just rude, she makes extremely condescending remarks. Honestly, she makes me feel like garbage every time she speaks to me, whether its by phone or in-person.

These aren't isolated incidents either, it's been like this since day one of being a client. She talks down to me as if I were a child who had never owned a pet before. Maybe it's because I'm way younger than she is, but she made assumptions about me not knowing how to provide care or training. I've had pets my entire life, and had them in adulthood for over 18 years at this point. When I disagreed with something she said, she basically called me irresponsible and inferred I was an idiot for not agreeing with her archaic viewpoints and refusing to agree with her on what my pet needed.

I really liked the vet and pricing though, so I kept coming back. And each time, it was to more verbal abuse and inappropriate remarks from the old lady. What irks me the most is that when a pet of mine was actually sick, it was a time when I would hope that staff would be more mindful about kindness and compassion towards a pet owner...but she was even worse towards me. She needs to learn to filter her words towards clients; as of right now, she says whatever she feels like and honestly I've wanted to snap back at her in anger so many times because it's ridiculous the things she feels comfortable saying to a pet owner. She needs to be humbled and have her demeanor checked. If you can't even be kind to someone with a sick animal and choose to instead ridicule them or make them feel even more miserable regarding their pet, maybe find another career field. Honestly, I hope she reads this. And here's a direct statement: You might be kind and compassionate to animals, but you're absolutely awful to people and I did not appreciate being disrespected, ridiculed, and made to feel like trash every time I came in. You're the entire reason Dr. Peterson lost me as a client.

In a nutshell, if you want a great vet with cheap pricing this place will work. But be prepared to deal with a rude receptionist and a crotchety old vet tech who will treat you like garbage. Personally, I don't feel like it's worth it.

We've now been clients of theirs for a while. After months of improvement, my senior kitty decided her time was up. These people could not have been more kind. Dee found me sitting with my sweet girl on the bench outside their office when they opened after spending all night at the emergency vet with her. With no appointment, they still made time to take my cat in and care for her that whole day until we knew we had reached the point of no return. I've never been treated with such kindness by total strangers. They cared for my cat so well, and when the time came, made sure we felt supported and respected in our decision to help her cross the rainbow bridge. We even received a hand written card from their office after she passed.

We've since brought several other newly adopted cats to them, and they've not once disappointed. Truly incredible people. Despite moving farther away, I will happily drive the distance for my pets to see these magic humans.

Reception lady who answered the phone was very nice and friendly. Called to see if they had same day appointments but unfortunately did not. She was helpful in giving other options of nearby vets and her tone was warming and friendly unlike many other vet offices I called to inquire about appointments.

Her customer service seems like they actually care and would definitely try to visit this vet to make an appointment ahead of time in the future!

The female Asian staff there is extremely rude and unprofessional. If you don't like animals then I suggest you don't go into this kind of profession. Animals coming to the vet is in need of compassionate and care. They didn't come to the vet to be treated like a nuisance. I suggest the owner or doctor of this establishment to better train their staff. This post is specifically for that one staff member. If you don't like your job then go find another job. If you can't have compassionate for sick animals then this is not the job for you.

I asked this place multiple times for my dog's records and they NEVER gave it to me. The ladies on the phone repeated told me their policy is that they don't give records out. However, California law requires vet offices to provide records when requested. When they finally agreed to send it, they didn't actually send it. They have no idea what they're doing. I don't ever want to come back because I absolutely do not trust this place anymore.
