So glad I found the Arcadian Retirement! I looked at other assisted living facilities for my grandma and chose this location. She is so happy and loves the staff.

The Arcadian Retirement is a great place for your loved one. Great care, clean, good food, and lots of activities.

Sad and lonely. Seniors walking aimlessly without purpose or sitting in sitting room waiting for what seems like death. Little interaction between residents. Little engagement between staff and residents. Saw roaches too.

One the one hand, this facility was a god-send. Their prices are reasonable when everyone else seems hellbent on gouging you. The place is kind of spartan when compared with another reasonably (but higher) priced place where my dad lived. Sort of a "you get what you pay for" kind of deal. However, what I found inexcusable was that, after my dad passed away, I received no condolences from the owner or her staff. Not a card, not a phone call--nothing. Making matters worse, I was due a refund of the rent and it took no less than 4 phone calls and 2 months before I received a check. So, if price is your main criterion, then this is the place. My dad used to live at Regency Park Astoria, but they jacked up the price from $2700 per month, to $4000 per month. This happened when the Regency Park corporation took over when they bought out the previous owner.
